Vintage Dowry Bag with Embroidery from Gujarat, India, made with 100% cotton fabric. It is expertly crafted with needlepoint work and is still in fairly good condition. Embellished with hand embroidery. This piece is estimated to have been made circa 1970s-1980s.
Bags like this were used as part of the dowry and to pack gifts during wedding ceremonies and other festivities.
