Vintage Dark Mirrored Hand-Embroidered Dowry Bag remnant from Gujarat. A high-quality bag made from 100% cotton. Note that the top of the bag has been cut off. There is fading/discoloration on one side of the bag as well.
Used as part of the dowry and to pack gifts during wedding ceremonies and other festive events.

Made circa 1970s. Sourced from Gujarat, India.

Items may be visibly faded, distressed, typical of age, and consistent with most of the Indian wall hangings in stock, which distinguishes them from the newer, mass-produced textiles made for the tourism and import markets. Most items show some discoloration, wear, missing patches of embroidery or mirrors, and faint stains in some cases.
