Description
These bright and vibrant vintage woven Indian textile fragment/wall hanging are extensively hand-embroidered on 100% cotton, hand-dyed fabric.
These durable cloth pieces were made by expert artisans from high-quality materials, making them especially eye-catching when framed as art pieces. They can help add texture to a room when displayed as an unframed tapestry. They could also make a beautiful addition to a sewing project.
Dimensions in photos.
Made circa 1970s. Sourced from Gujarat, India.
Care instructions: Not machine washable. Getting these wet will cause the natural dyes to wash out. Spot-clean only or utilize cleaning methods suitable for fine/antique fabrics. Steam or carefully iron for wrinkle removal.
Items may be visibly faded, distressed, typical of age, and consistent with most of the Indian wall hangings in stock, which distinguishes them from the newer, mass-produced textiles made for the tourism and import markets. Most items show some discoloration, wear, missing patches of embroidery or mirrors, and faint stains in some cases.
