Description
Vintage hand-woven and hand-dyed Ikat fabric from India (Patolu is the word for Ikat in India). The patterns are actually woven into the fabric on a handloom (not printed). The threads are all previously dyed before the pattern is set & woven. This patola features geometric patterns and stripes. There are some spots on the item (see photos).
This would be a great fabric to use for home decor, textile projects, or to wear as a shawl or fashion accessory.
The fabric was made circa 1970-1980s. Sourced from India.

Items may be visibly faded, distressed, typical of age, and consistent with most of the textiles in stock, which distinguishes them from the newer, mass-produced textiles made for the tourism and import markets. Most items show some discoloration, wear, missing patches of embroidery or mirrors, and faint stains in some cases.
